About AmeriCorps
AmeriCorps engages thousands of Americans each year on a local level to provide direct service that addresses critical community needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment. AmeriCorps members tutor and mentor youth, care for the elderly, improve health services, build affordable housing, help communities respond to disasters, and mobilize and manage other volunteers through organizations like LowCountry Habitat.

For more information about joining the AmeriCorps program, visit www.americorps.gov or contact Rebecca Hines, Senior Specialist of National Service Programs with SC Habitat AmeriCorps, at rhines@habitat.org.

About Youth United
Jamie Peacock, an AmeriCorps member currently serving with LowCountry Habitat, leads our Youth United program. Youth United is an exciting initiative that invites young people to work together to fund and build Habitat houses in northern Beaufort County. The program targets young, enthusiastic volunteers to develop leadership skills, engage in advocacy and fundraising activities and experience the joy of helping others in the community. Youth United works through a team model in which adults mentor youth in the completion of team-related tasks.

Youth United meets on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church Hall, located at Church and North Streets. New members are always welcome. For more information about Youth United, contact info@lowcountryhabitat.org
