LowCountry Habitat for Humanity could not help partner families realize their dream of homeownership without the help of many dedicated volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, complete the form, and be sure to attend orientation at Habitat Night, on the second Tuesday of each month.
Volunteer opportunities exist in every area of our affiliate’s operation – there is a need for all types of abilities and skill levels.
Volunteer to Build
Build days are Tuesdays through Saturdays, 8 am until noon. Sometimes, we work until 2 pm, with a break for a packed lunch at noon. Please arrive promptly.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to work on a Habitat construction site. No construction experience is needed as skilled supervision will be provided. Volunteer orientation and online sign up is required, in advance. If you are an individual or part of a group and would like to get started working on a build site, there are just a few simple steps that you need to follow.
You must first attend a volunteer orientation. If you are a group of 10 or more, we can schedule a meeting at a mutually convenient location and time. Once we have your completed paperwork, you will be added to our weekly Construction Update mailing list. The Construction Update is emailed each Monday and includes volunteer needs for the week. Check your schedule and if you wish to volunteer, simply click on the online sign up link.
Although most people think immediately of construction when they think of Habitat for Humanity, we also need volunteers in our ReStore, at our Wood Shop, in the office, at special events and to serve on our standing committees: Faith Relations, Family of Families, Land Acquisition and ReStore Advisory.
Come and be a part of a global effort to end substandard housing!
